Yorkshire & French music to celebrate Le Tour.
Two lovely works by Yorkshire composer Frederick Delius – La Calinda and Walk to the Paradise Garden – and then Yorkshire Cellist Jessica Burroughs performs the Concerto by Saint-Saens. The second half of the programme is the amazing Symphonie Fantastique by Hector Berlioz.

Haworth born Jessica regularly works with many of the leading orchestras including the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Halle Orchestra. She has recorded for Naxos, EMI, Sony, Deutsche Gramophone and most recently appeared in Sofia, Bulgaria with Vasko Vassilev and the Covent Garden Soloists.
She is in regular demand as a soloist and chamber musician with performances taking her all around the globe including festivals such as Paxos Festival, Texas Music Festival, Academie de Musique de Sion Switzerland, Gloucester Three Choirs Festival, Aberystwyth Arts Festival, Chelsea Festival and the Lake District Summer Music Festival.

Ripon’s renowned St Cecilia Orchestra is much more than just an orchestra. At its most spectacular it is an exceptionally fine and very large symphony orchestra, often working with top class international soloists and capable of giving high-quality performances of some of the most demanding large-scale works in the repertoire, such as Bartok Concerto for Orchestra, Elgar Symphony No 1, Holst Planets Suite, Janacek Sinfonietta, Mahler Symphony No 5, Rachmaninov Symphony No 2, Shostakovich Symphony No 5 and R.
